While most low cost systems use simple audible and visual warnings, TALEX Lite also uses a voice alert to warn the driver 500 yards before a camera location and displays the speed limit for the road. If the driver is exceeding the limit with 200 yards to go then the unit will advise the driver to slow down .
TALEX uses state-of-the-art global positioning system (GPS) technology to determine exactly where a vehicle is in relation to speed cameras and other hazards. TALEX systems are completely legal and will remain so, unlike laser and radar-based ‘detectors' which are set to be outlawed in the new Road Safety Bill currently going through parliament.
The compact TALEX Lite features a simple ‘plug and play' dashboard mounting system which means it can be active in seconds. The bright LED display, combined with clear speed limit announcements, keeps the driver safe night and day. A special feature of TALEX is road specific activation - its ability to identify specific roads that contain speed cameras as you travel towards them, rather than locating cameras in a general area or zone. This eliminates the annoying and distracting false alerts of many other devices.
To ensure that TALEX is always accurate the company offers customers an optional subscription kit which provides them with the very latest information on safety camera positions and accident black spots. The subscription kit is £34.99 including the first 12 months. Additional 12 months' subscriptions are just £24.99 or £49.99 for three years. The comprehensive database is continually updated by a professional survey team of experienced former traffic police officers, and is easily downloaded to a PC from the software and cable provided by TALEX.
