Description
What You Get
This Dolphin kit is a 6 sensor recess mounting system that will cover the widest of cars giving a professional finish. The system has 4 rear mounting sensors (2m cables) and 2 front mounting sensors (6m cables). A buzzer comes with the system for mounting in the boot which gives audible bleeps with increasing frequency as you get closer to an obstacle.
How it works
The system radiates ultrasonic beams out covering the areas infront and behind the vehicle. The beams get reflected by obstructions and re-enter the sensors. The reflected beam information is processed to calculate the distance of the obstruction.
The 4 rear sensors power from the reversing lights power supply and switch on automatically when reverse gear is selected. The front sensors power off the brake lights and power up whenever the brake pedal is applied. The front sensors will remain on for 5 seconds after you stop braking. When both sets of sensors are in operation either because you are braking while reversing or you start reversing after braking then the rear sensors take precedent over the front sensors.
For the rear sensors, when the vehicle is less than 1.5 metres from the obstruction the audible alert will emit intermittent bleeps. As the vehicle gets closer to the obstruction the frequency of the bleeps increases. At 40 centimetres from the obstruction the bleeps become a continuous solid tone.
For the front sensors alerts will only start at a shorter range of 1m to avoid false alerts from other cars when queuing in traffic.

Optional Wedge Included
This system comes with an optional wedge, allowing greater flexibility according to the shape of your bumper. The wedge can be used if your bumper is slightly angled up- or downwards, to ensure the sensor's signal is still sent out parallel with the road's surface.
Maintenance
No routine maintenance or adjustment is required. Dirt, frost or snow accumulated on the sensors may cause the system to activate incorrectly. Clean carefully with a soft cloth. Do not use chemicals or spirits. Applying hot water in frozen conditions may damage the sensors. The sensors can be washed carefully with warm soapy water
