The Cheetah Sentinel is the most advanced radar and laser detector system in the world.
It is designed to work in EVERY type of car, van, truck and motorcycle, especially in cars that have Athermic, or heat reflective windscreens.
With an ever increasing number of manufacturers using Athermic windscreens, including Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Bentley and others, The Sentinel is the only wireless remote detector in the world. It is specifically designed to work with these vehicles.
The in-car warning unit is very small and does not require line of sight to the road. It is about the size of a small box of matches.
The external sensor unit is positioned is a discreet location at the front (or rear) of your vehicle. It is about the size of a pack of playing cards.
The Cheetah Sentinel is a remote head system that communicates with the small in-car warning unit via a state of the art wireless radio link. The weatherproof sensor unit of the Cheetah Sentinel mounts externally, behind your radiator grille or under your bumper, and communicates wirelessly with the warning unit inside your car. The in-car warning unit gives both audible and visual alerts.
This means the Cheetah Sentinel Alert unit can be placed out of sight in your glovebox, under your steering column, or above your sunvisor. YOU decide the ideal and most discreet location for your own car.
If you wish, you can temporarily fit the system as close as possible to your desired locations to confirm that the communication link will work effectively.
Positioning: There are a variety of fitting options available. The best method will vary from vehicle to vehicle, so please take a few moments to decide which method is best for you.
Step 1.
Connect the +ve and -ve leads from the supplied fuse unit to the corresponding terminals on your battery (or other suitable connection points). The supplied fuse unit MUST be fitted.
Step 2.
Join the automatic power sensor unit to the fuse unit by clipping the moulded plugs together. It is only possible to join these plugs in the correct manner. The plugs should mate together securely.
Step 3.
Once the external alert sensor is securely fitted in a suitable location, join it to the automatic power sensor unit by clipping the moulded plugs together. Again, the plugs should mate together securely.
Step 4.
Plug the warning unit into the cigar lighter socket in your car. The wireless communication will allow the Cheetah Sentinel to be placed in most locations inside your car. If the Cheetah Sentinel does not receive the wireless communication, simply select another position. (can also be hard wired if preferred, but an in-line 2 amp fuse must be fitted.)
It is now installed and ready to use.
IMPORTANT: The external alert sensor should be mounted vertically for best performance. It must be attached securely to your vehicle using the metal mounting bars and / or cable ties.
The entire front window of the external alert sensor (the cable exits the rear of the unit) should have a clear line of sight to the road ahead. If this is not possible, it is acceptable for the window to be covered by a small section of grille, but the laser sensor must have a clear line of sight. The laser sensor is clearly marked by an arrow. Obscuring the front window of the detector will reduce the warning distance of radar devices.
