Laser Jammers & Diffusers
If you have been caught speeding more than once, or you're particularly worried about the proliferation of mobile speed vans hidden around every corner, then a laser jammer or laser diffuser could be the ideal form of protection. A laser jammer is mounted down by your number plate as this is where the police will typically target you in order to get their laser beam bouncing off your car and back to the speed gun. The time it takes for this light to travel to your car and back is how your approaching speed is calculated. By firing back additional light beams at the same 904nm light wave, the speed gun cannot account for this additional light and believes it is getting a double reflection off another car or some street furniture and therefore gives an error.

Since these gadgets are not strictly legal, we generally refer to them as 'garage door openers' or 'parking sensors'. Some of the models available are ideal for one or the other of these functions, thus providing a more legitimate reason for fitting one to your car.
