Description
The EPS200 is a discrete, no holes in your bumper, Electromagnetic parking sensor system. Compatible with any car or vehicle with plastic bumpers. EPS200 will sense any object, person or car located behind your vehicle, not just metal obstructions. It will provide you with an early warning alert system to protect your vehicle from bumps, scrapes & expensive collisions. Designed for people with bike racks, low mounted spare tyres or other obstables which may otherwise cause false alerts for the traditional ultrasonic sensor systems.
The EPS200 will not start to detect objects until they are closer than the traditional ultrasonic sensors would start detecting, but they will conversely get you closer before giving you the final warning to stop. In that respect this is sometimes also considered a better option for someone who is already reasonably competant at reversing and being aware of their surroundings but wanting to use every inch available, when parrallel parking for instance in tight busy streets.
When reverse gear is engaged the system provides an instant, automatic, self-diagnostic function that maps out the surrounding area of your bumper and gives an audible tone to confirm its active.
The EPS200, as an electromagnetic system, works differently to the more traditional ultrasonic sensors, in that its looking for a change in the terrain behind the car. Therefore when first started it will ignore any objects currently present, which may range from tow bars to brick walls, but when you start moving in relation to these objects the EPS200 wil notice the relative changes and alert accordingly. As a tow bar would remain in the same please relative to the sensor strip, it will continue to ignore it. If you get start moving closer or further away from a wall or another car then it will alert the distance accordingly.
