Want to use some of those portable car gadgets such as fridges but afraid of you battery becoming excessively drained? This car battery saver is designed for such 12v portable appliances and it will automatically cut off the power supply or supply power to the appliance depending on the status of the car battery.
The unit is matt black plastic with a self adhesive base for easy installation. The unit itself measures 5.3cm x 7.7cm x 2.7cm. From the power inlet to the power outlet the distance is about 1m.
Instructions for use:
- Plug the unit cigar lighter in to the cigar lighter socket. At this stage the unit will examine the battery voltage. When it is ready the green LED will light up.
- Next insert the appliance cigar lighter socket in to the female output connection of the battery saver.
- If the car-battery voltage is low (below 11.2V (±0.3V)) the red LED will alight and the green LED will turn off after 5 seconds. This situation means that there is no power being output to the appliance.
- When the car battery voltage reaches a safe level the green LED will alight and the red LED will turn off signifying that there is a power supply reaching the appliance.
