Car Alarms
This is the most common form of security system for your car and is the basic level of security with which every car should be equipped. It provides an (very) audible deterrent to car thieves, as well as quickly alerting the owner. On top of all of these benefits, the installation is also extremely straightforward.
An entry-level car alarm only requires a three wire connection to be effective (power/earth and voltage sensing) and can be easily mounted in the engine bay. More complicated alarms have additional wiring for upgrades or options, such as indicator-flashing, arming/disarming or when sounding the siren. Even more sophisticated alarms employ microwave or ultrasonic technology to sense intrusions or detect a physical presence.
Remote Controlled Alarms
Spending more money does not necessitate a louder alarm; they are restricted by law and typically 120 decibels. Car alarms are only allowed to sound for 30 seconds, at which point they will rearm themselves. All car alarms come with a key fob to remotely control the alarm, complying with MPT 1340 working on the internationally standardised frequencies of 433.720 MHz to 434.120 MHz.
